Why This Workshop Matters

The credibility of an election extends beyond the casting and counting of votes. It depends on the authenticity of electoral materials, integrity of evidence, proper documentation, transparent procedures, responsible use of technology, and the ability to independently investigate allegations of electoral fraud and misconduct.

As electoral processes become increasingly complex and digital, investigators, lawyers, journalists, election officials, political actors, civil society organisations and forensic professionals require a deeper understanding of how scientific and forensic methods can be applied to authenticate evidence, detect irregularities, preserve the integrity of exhibits, investigate electoral disputes, and support credible decision-making.

This workshop provides a practical platform for understanding these issues and exploring how forensic expertise can contribute to transparent, credible, accountable and trustworthy elections.
